The venue is a family-run Quinta in a privileged and secluded position with no nearby neighbours in full countryside. It has a view to die for overlooking one of the cleanest and warmest lakes in Europe with Mountains in the background.

It is an award-winning off-grid Eco-Lodge built from scratch by the present owners over the last 40 years. Principally solar-run, (though you wouldn't know it), it re-cycles everything possible and much of the food comes from its own biologically-run kitchen garden.

sitting above a large, warm and clean lake it has a Sauna close to the water at the bottom of the garden, a large Yoga Shala, (where Yoga mats and blocks are provided as standard), and a Yurt that's excellent for sound baths.

The mattresses and pillows are all high quality and promote a restful night's sleep after the day's activities.

Canoes and SUPs are included in the price.

We have an in-house, professionally trained cook who can provide all food while on the premises - and picnics should you want a day out.

With a large dining room and bar, various outdoor terraces and seating areas, the Yurt and the garden filled with little nooks and crannies, one can be as communal or as secluded as one wishes.

The decor is a charming mix of Portuguese and British with family heirlooms dotted around and an absence of store-bought pseudo-antiques. The overall ambiance is of a family home, which is exactly what it is.

There's free wifi in all the rooms and throughout the grounds and a heated Watsu pool as well as the clean and warm chemical-free lake on your doorstep as well as a wood-fired sauna close to the water.

There's free parking of course, but for those not wanting the hassle of hiring cars, transfers can easily be arranged from either Faro or Lisbon airports.

We have no real need for heating, but have a couple of fireplaces in the drawing rooms should it become necessary.

There's also no need for climate-destroying air conditioning as the buildings have been designed and built correctly with sufficient insulation. Hot water - and I mean hot! - is provided by solar panels and electricity for the most part by photovoltaic arrays.

Daily cleaning is provided as standard throughout the premises and includes all bedrooms. 

Washing of personal clothes etc can be catered for.
